Mrs. Elliott’s Second Class received a lovely surprise last week when each girl was presented with a special momento of her First Holy Communion. The kind ladies of the Crochet Club made magnificent white crochet Rosary Beads for the children. Each set of beads was delicately stitched and placed in an exquisite little bag with a love heart attached to it. We would like to say a very big ‘Thank You’ to the members of the Crochet Club and to Father Murphy who blessed the Rosary Beads for the children. The girls really appreciated this thoughtful gesture and they will treasure their gifts for years to come.

Miss Hegarty’s Senior Infants have been studying the topic of ‘Weather’. They are keeping ‘Weather Diaries’ where they record the different weather conditions for each day of the week. Well done to our little ‘Meteorologists’.

The pre-schoolers have been learning lots about frogs. The boys and girls enjoyed singing songs and playing games about frogs. The staff of the Pre-school would like to invite new parents to their Open Day on May 15th at 4pm. There are still a number of free pre-school places available for September 2018.

We were very sad to say farewell to our student teacher and former pupil, Sinéad Barrett, who has just completed her teaching practice with us. Sinéad did fantastic work in First Class and in the Senior Infant classrooms over the past number of months. She taught lovely lessons and organised great activities for our pupils. The children and staff will miss Sinéad so much. We wish her all the best in her teaching career. Go n-éirí go geal leat i gcónaí, a Shinéad!
