On April 16th we were delighted to welcome Emma from Maxi Zoo who came to speak to our pupils about taking good care of their pets. The children were so excited to meet Emma’s companion, Poppy, a beautiful black bunny rabbit and they all wanted to make friends with her. Poppy is only four months old. She is very calm and she loves visiting schools around Cork city and county.

The boys and girls in the Pre-school also thoroughly enjoyed playing with Poppy and her charming little bunny friend, Lily.

As part of their preparation for First Holy Communion, Mrs. Elliott’s girls are taking part in the Faith Friends programme. Transition year students from Presentation Secondary School have been partnered with our Second Class pupils. Every Friday the group meets to discuss what will happen on the day of the Communion and they pray together. The older girls also talk about the memories they have of their own First Holy Communion.

Each child is completing a special booklet with the assistance of her Faith Friend. It is lovely to see everyone working and having fun together. We are very grateful to the senior students for their help, support and kindness towards their little friends.

Well done to all of the classes who decorated the school and cheered us up with their wonderful spring and summer artwork. The girls from Sixth Class also created a very interesting display with their photographs, their Confirmation names and an explanation of the significance of the names which they have chosen for their big day. We would like to thank Fr. Murphy who visits the school regularly to meet with the children who are receiving the sacraments.

We also have some pictures of our Easter Draw to enjoy. We thank the parents association for organising this this year.
