The girls from Second Class made their First Confession along with the boys from Morning Star School in the parish church on February 22nd. Mrs. Elliott said that she was very proud of how well her girls had prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. They remembered all of their prayers and they sang so sweetly during the lovely service. The children are now looking forward with great anticipation to the day of their First Holy Communion in May.

All of our pupils are currently participating in the Food Dudes Programme. The aim of the programme is to encourage children to eat and enjoy a healthy selection of fruit and vegetables.

Funding for this initiative has been provided by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and by the European Union School Fruit and Vegetables Scheme. Each child will also receive a Home Pack which is full of helpful information on how families can maintain a healthy diet at home.

First Class have been really enjoying their camogie training on Tuesdays as well as their swimming lessons on Thursdays. Bean Uí Chonaill and the girls have also taken on the Operation Transformation 10 @ 10 challenge in an effort to improve their overall level of fitness.

Fifth Class pupils, Clíona Marshall and Katie O’Leary, were invited to UCC on March 1st for the launch of their winning ‘Professor Fluffy’ bookmarks. We are so happy for the girls and everyone was thrilled to hear that Clíona and Katie have earned a trip to Fota for their entire class! Maith sibh, a chailíní!
