The girls from Second Class to Sixth Class attended a Bullying Prevention Session organised by Cyclone Rep in the Halla on February 10th. The different types of bullying were outlined and discussed. The course facilitators performed a series of very lively and entertaining vignettes to depict each form of bullying and how it impacts on children. The girls interacted enthusiastically with the actors and they learned valuable strategies on how to deal with bullying behaviours should they occur in their own lives.
Ms. McAdoo’s Second Class were thrilled to be introduced to their Faith Friends from Presentation Secondary School on February 13th. The girls had a lovely ‘Getting to Know You’ session and they cannot wait for the next meeting. It is so nice to see the older girls guiding our children along on their faith journey towards First Holy Communion. Our older pupils still remember the Faith Friends they made when they were in Second Class and they have spoken about the kindness and generosity shown towards them by the secondary school students.
Our annual Walk to the Lough Fundraiser took place on February 14th. All classes set off together after lunch and we were blessed with brilliant sunshine for the entire trip. Some of the super energetic senior pupils managed to run seven rounds of the Lough while the junior classes visited the playground. The girls from Fifth Class helped out by pushing the little children on the swings. It was evident that everyone had a lovely time and Mrs. Fitzsimons was so happy to see how much money had been pledged that she cancelled homework for the day!
